Past Pachyderm president Thelma Baker was featured in today's Missoulian.
Thelma Baker, owner of the
Thunderbird Motel in Missoula and one of Montana’s three Electoral
College voters, is heading to the nation’s capital to attend
President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration ceremony on Friday.
The
prominent local Republican has been chosen by the state GOP to be one
of Montana's electors in each of the last five presidential races. The
honor reflects Baker's labors in the party trenches.
She
spent 18 years running Missoula election efforts for former U.S. Sen.
Conrad Burns and has worked on campaigns for everyone from U.S. Sen.
Steve Daines to former Gov. Judy Martz....
“When you’re standing at the Capitol and
you’re being sworn in and you know that you’re going to vote for the
president of the United States, it’s an emotion that’s hard to describe.
You’re making history,” she said.
This will be the third inauguration she’s attended, having been to both of President George W. Bush’s in 2000 and 2004.
Thelma is currently Second Vice President for the club. Read the rest here.
